Kingdom Hearts 3

Everything That Came Out Of Square Enix’s E3 Conference

The third Tomb Raider game was first in Square Enix’s lineup, with a small cinematic teaser trailer, followed by a demonstration of the games stealth mechanics. The system was called “Becoming One With The Jungle”, but entailed much of what we’ve seen before in Tomb Raider and other Action Adventure games like uncharted, stealth killing via button prompts from behind and around corners, sniping with bow and arrow, large explosions, but there was two things the stood out.

1. There now seems to be an arrow that allows you to enrage an enemy and make the go berserk, they will randomly shoot around themselves, but dying on the spot. I do not know if this was in the second Tomb Raider game, but it certainly wasn’t in the first from what I remember. 2. You are going to be able to string up enemies stealthily by tree branches, Batman Arkham style, by shooting a new rope arrow, and using Lara’s body weight to pull them up.

We also got a second trailer, although it was just as quick. The Mayan Apocalypse will come out on September 14th this year on Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC and Steam.

We got a trailer for the Under The Moonlight patch update thats a cross over with Monster Hunter World.

Square Enix didn’t really show much more, but mentioned once again that it would be in the Life Is Strange expanded universe. However, “it’s not Life is Strange 2” but the “first steps into the world.” Apparently it will have connections to characters and locations from “Season 2”, but I find it unclear if they’re referring to Before The Storm, or if they just inadvertently announced Life Is Strange 2. The Amazing Adventures Of Captain Spirit comes out for free on June 26th later this month.

Dragon Quest XI got a trailer. It’s getting a “light edition” apparently according to the trailer. It’s coming out on september 4th, on Playstation 4 and Steam.

We got an announcement for a game called Babylon’s Fall. It seems like it’ll be an epic fantasy with angels fighting it out, and has a bit of a Dark Souls aesthetic to the look of the world. It’s being developed by Platinum Games, creators of Nier Automata and Bayonetta. It’s coming out on Playstation 4 and Steam in 2019.

We got the same trailer we saw at the Xbox press conference for the Become as Gods edition, which is coming to only Xbox One, will be “enhanced” for Xbox One X, and will contain all previous DLC. It’s available June 26th later this month.

Again, a new game, new trailer, It’s a Nintendo Switch exclusive, looking to rekindle nostalgia for the original turn based pixel art JRPGs like the original Final Fantasy. It seems to blend anime/manga style art with pixel art, but other wise very little was revealed. It’s available on the 13th this July.

We got a new look at Just Cause 4, showcasing the world and the new extreme weather patterns in the game. This was revealed to have not just tornados, but blizzards, sandstorms and lightning strikes. It’s graphics look brilliant, and is reportedly supported by the Apex engine. They also mentioned they have new vehicles like a crane with a wrecking ball, and a Bulldozer.

As for gadgets, we have “more tethers than ever before”, some air lifters and booster rockets. We also have some new enemy types “who present a far more intelligent threat”, including an enemy who can turn invisible. It comes out December 4th, on Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC and Steam.

We got a very short live-action-transition-into-game-graphics trailer for a new IP, The Quiet Man, where you play as a deaf… guy who knows hand-to-hand combat in New York. “More to come in August”, announced for Playstation 4 and Steam.

New trailer, but shows much of what we saw already from it’s trailer at Xbox’s press conference, showcasing worlds for Frozen, Ratatouille, Tangled, Monsters Inc, Hercules, Wreck It Ralph and Toy Story. The game comes out on Xbox One and Playstation 4 on January 29th, 2019.

Sadly thats it. It was a short half-hour conference, and we got only the odd tidbit here and there, but most of it we already saw at other conferences.
