Jack Tretton Showing Off The PS3

Former Sony CEO Teams Up With Epic Games To Boost Indie Devs

About $1 million – $5 million USD are to be invested in each applicable project.

Interactive Gaming Ventures, an investment company owned by former Sony CEO Jack Tretton, has partnered up with Fortnite developer Epic Games. IGV aims to give funding to indie developers so that they can finish and publish their games. This partnership will specifically target “experienced” indie devs, who develop their games with unreal engine 4, that are planned for release on PC, first over all other platforms.

The program will reportedly support 2-3 games a year, spending $1-5 million USD on each, for the next seven years. Indie developers, will keep their ownership of their IP including copyright. Indie developers who wish to apply can do so through their website here.

What do you think about the partnership? Do you think it’s fair that they prioritise PC releases? Join the discussion below.
